September 7, 2016–The Clinton Foundation-related charities claim to “fight AIDS” around the world, among other good works, but a former New York investment banker calls their record “a case study in international charity fraud of mammoth proportions.” Charles K. Ortel published yesterday the results of his 18-month look into the legal and financial fraud of the Clinton Foundation-related charities as they operate mostly in developing countries around the world. The media might soon be shocked, shocked! But did we expect any better behavior from international AIDS missions? As Joseph Conrad wrote in Heart of Darkness:

The conquest of the earth, which mostly means the taking it away from those who have a different complexion or slightly flatter noses than ourselves, is not a pretty thing when you look into it too much.

As the U.S. national election nears, the political fate of former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton is uncertain. Much of the controversy buzzes around the Clinton Foundation and its spin-offs in the U.S. and abroad.

Questions have been asked about the use of a private e-mail server to mix State Department and Foundation business while Mrs. Clinton was Secretary of State. But until recently, little attention has landed on what the Clinton nonprofits were legally established to do. And haven’t been doing.

The Foundation itself was established in 1997 to support research into the historical legacy of former U.S. President Bill Clinton — the Clinton Presidential Library, basically.

What business does a presidential library foundation have fighting “AIDS” in developing countries? What kind of staffing and expertise has it maintained? Reports are now surfacing around the world that these are fraudulent, mostly empty-shell entities, incapable of honoring even the vague promises they make while taking in hundreds of millions of dollars in donations.

It turns out that the Clinton Network Charities, as Ortel calls them, are little more than conduits to channel money to corrupt foreign governments. Lots of money.

And what happens to the poor “AIDS patients” receiving these “life-saving” treatments that the Clinton entities claim to have “scaled up,” whatever that means, in their countries — assuming there are many treatments at all? Australian blogger and retired detective Michael Smith stumbled on this clue, in a Bill-praising speech by the prime minster and grand chief of Papua New Guinea:

Papua New Guinea is a nation of many tribes whose cultures in the past have provided a safety net for those who are orphaned, sick or aging. With the arrival of this “new” virus, fear has turned families and relatives away from supporting their loved one.

Children, who traditionally brought great joy to families, often find themselves being abandoned and desperately needing care and treatment.

Sounds like quite a tempting profit center. Have these corrupt charities simply claimed that poor, rural people have “HIV,” then waited for their own families to “stigmatize” them until they have nowhere else to turn?

Even the much-ballyhooed “access” to cheaper generic drugs runs into problems, as pharmaceutical companies such as Ranbaxy in India have been busted by the U.S. FDA for manufacturing defective products. Even worse, Clinton-associated efforts to distribute these drugs to rural areas seem to have proceeded with little or no oversight and no evidence that any doctors, nurses or anyone monitor the patients.

In the years to come, as donor lawsuits likely pile on, will we be allowed to see the damage on the ground, done to marginalized and silenced people? Or are they merely statistics in this Sherwood Forest full of corrupt Robin Hoods?

Look at the bright side: A little over a year ago, looking up the tunics of such self-proclaimed morally unassailable do-gooders would have been unthinkable. It’s getting interesting.
