Episode 23: Curing AIDS in Your Kitchen
June 14th, 2010

Paul Yeager has got some real, very hard-earned answers to the disease syndrome(s) we call AIDS. Not to be missed. Imagine the early days of radio, and draw closer!

He retraces his journey from AIDS victim to superb health…only through changing to what he believes is the best diet in the world, described in his book, “Immune: How I Beat AIDS in My Kitchen“. With Celia Farber and David Crowe, Paul describes just how deathly ill he was soon after his positive HIV test in 2004, and how things changed rapidly and dramatically after he saw the light about diet and toxins. By removing drugs, including alcohol, and initiating an ancient diet, inspired by the Weston Price foundation, he returned to superb mental and physical health.

Celia’s audio quality is not as high as it should be in this episode as her recording equipment was packed in a box in the process of moving.

Paul Yeager’s presenting signs and symptoms sound to me to be exactly like what Chinese medicine practitioners commonly refer to as LGS or Leaky Gut Syndrome. This syndrome was best illustrated by Dr. Jake Fratkin OMD in many of his seminars in the early 1990s. There is currently a PDF on this where Dr. Fratkin outlines the scenario along with the various modalities used by Chinese medical practitioners in resolving the various manifestations of these disharmonies of the gut and intestines, and other associated internal organs.

I contacted Paul almost two years ago when things where very dark, scary and life shattering. With great compassion, he reached out to me, spent many hours with me on the phone and through email. It took a good stretch of time to finally get my mind/body and spirit together to have the ability to implement the main pillars of nutrition mentioned in this podcast. I got excited: “I have made beet kvass, kombucha, kefir, bone broth all in my kitchen as we speak, and Paul is one of the main reasons for this. I almost died three years ago with similar waisting that Paul experienced. My illness escalated to the point where I was infected with CMV and lost all vision in my right eye. Even with these set backs the nourishing nutrient dense foods, daily yoga meditation and practice, constant soul searching keeps my life full and rich. A lot of raw butter and cream doesn’t hurt either. Anyway, thank you Paul for your story and courage. If we where men of “gospel” you would be my brother in LIFE. Thanks for the podcast. And yes, if this seems overwhelming take Pauls advice and do one thing lets say each week and build from there. All these recipes are actually really easy, we just believe we can’t do these things because most of us have grown up in a processed industrialized food reality. I live in Minneapolis, if anyone needs help let me know. chadwally@hotmail.com. Lets heal the world one person and one recipe at a time!
