Ed Lieb has survived years as an HIV-positive gay man, one of the earliest members of HEAL New York and a former cable television talk show host covering AIDS and related issues.
David and Beth talk to Ed to about an hour, particularly focussing on how he was put on Atripla against his will, and how difficult it was to quit. Some of the subjects that come up during the discussion are the refusal of the FDA to crack down on poppers and the classic dissident book by John Lauritsen and Ian Young, The AIDS Cult.
In a news roundup at the beginning of the show the hosts discuss an OMSJ report of a judge ruling against felony prosecution for the second time, a short video of Terry Michael putting Nobelist Françoise Barré Sinoussi on the spot, a multi-million dollar false positive HIV testing lawsuit settled in Washington DC, and reports that Julio Montaner, now Canada’s top AIDS drug pusher, wants to test everyone in Canada and then presumably, if they are positive, put them on drugs (or even if they are negative and ‘at risk’).
